In-person meetings and events are predicted to grow during 2022, with 81% of events expected to have an in-person element, according to an annual report by American Express. The GSMA expects attendance at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to be similar to pre-COVID figures.

The growth in eSIM compatible smartphones is creating new opportunities for network operators, and according to GSMA Intelligence, eSIM connections will reach 33% of all smartphone connections by 2025.
