Console Connect, the Software-Defined Interconnection® (SDI®) platform by PCCW Global, today announced its expansion to key data centers across Australia. Customers can now connect in multiple data centers in Sydney, Perth and Brisbane. PCCW Global is the international operating division of HKT, Hong Kong’s premier telecommunications service provider.

The Console Connect network-as-a-service platform is fully integrated with the world’s leading cloud, SaaS, IoT and IX providers, including Google Cloud, AWS, IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, Alibaba, Tencent and NAVER Cloud. Customers on the platform can purchase access ports in 128 leading on-net data centers throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North and South America, Africa as well as across Asia and now Australia.

The automated Console Connect fabric is underpinned by PCCW Global’s Tier-1 IP backbone and one of the largest MPLS networks in the world, spanning more than 160 countries and 3,000 cities. Console Connect enables users to instantly self-provision fully protected, uncontended, layer2 connectivity on-demand across the globe, with flexible durations from one day to one year, all priced on a pay-as-you-go basis. Service can be turned up in a few clicks between, and among, customer access ports or to multiple clouds, SaaS and IoT partners and IXs that have already interconnected with the platform globally.

Customers and partners can sign up to the service online at consoleconnect.com and provision and manage connections via the easy-to-use self-provisioning web portal. Partners with their own automation platform can also integrate via API and extend their international footprint.

The platform in Australia allows customers to order international circuits on-demand but also self-provision services to all the major cloud providers in Australia.

Mr. Michael Glynn, Vice President of Digital Automated Innovation, PCCW Global, said, “We are very excited to enable the Console Connect SDI® platform in Australia. This marks our 40th country on the platform and Australia is also the home of our Console Connect Automation Software team with 50+ software development engineers who are based in Brisbane.”

Mr. Glynn added, “The Console Connect SDI® platform advantage is its build on top of the PCCW Global MPLS network which today incorporates 664,000km of diverse cable capacity and over 22tb/s of global fiber capacity, affording our customers access to a fully redundant, non-contended global network environment. Over the past few months, we have increased our international connectivity into Australia with three cable systems linking with Asia and to the United States.”
